Back to work 29th October

I have started back casting but slowly for now. Orders processed asap.

Currently we have around 65 awaiting our attention.

Current workload Update

The Store has been closed this morning Monday the 14th October.

Once again the orders have overtaken my casting rate and to compond the issue I have done my back in.

I will start casting asap and re-open once I have caught up a bit, sorry folks.

We have agreed a takeover so the figures will be around for the foreseeable future,

Please keep the size of your orders down, we have had many huge orders and this means others have to wait on their being done.

Starting today's casting with around 20 still to do so there will still be delays.

We are remoulding some of the older ranges and they have remained down for now.

Cheers Keith and Adam

Massive Increase in orders

We have been overloaded with orders and are now alerting folk that they can expect delays in shipments of 3 to 4 weeks on orders placed now.

I have also been summoned to do Jury duty this Friday 3rd May and if selected will have to sit for a trial. This will be a disaster for us as there will be no casting done while it proceeds.

Sorry but it is what it is.

The Future of Aventine Miniatures

We are finshing up in Setember 2025 ie in18mths or so.

We are just getting older and reaching OAP time.

We will finish the current range and add a few packs suitable for the start of the 1st Century AD.

We will alo renew some of the older ranges by fixing things we think can be better and making new moulds where needed.

Thank you all for 15years of fun and friendship, for all the support and encouragement.

This is being anounced now to be fair to all, those that need a few bits to complete things and to prevent anyone starting a big project only to discover we are shutting up shop before they get it done.

We are open to offers for a solid well performing business.

Cheers Keith and Adam

New Command pack for Caesarean Romans and 4 more legionary packs.

10th April 2024

CS7 tto 10 Legionaries in later helmets and CS24 a 5th command set have been addedd to the store.

Caesarean Romans

Having added the first 6 packs of Legiionaries we are hoping to add 2 more packs before Christmas. The range will continue to expand and will include a small number of allied packs necessary to field a full army on table.

Last packs for the Allied Legion added

We have added AL11 Allied infantry advancing with Roman helmets and an advancing Command AL12.

We also added the Allied cavalry AL20-23.

That completes the Allied legion section.

Next will be Casearean Romans.

UPDATE 30th May 2023

I have the old store now shut down for ordering (all out of stock status) and currently adding all the transfers to this site.

Adam has the allied legion ready to mould so they should be added next week.

We have around 30 orders to cast working at 7 to 8 per day depending on size meaning we should be back to the normal turnaround times in about 2 weeks.

Cheers Keith and Adam

UPDATE 23rd April 2023

Adam has most of the figures prepared for the Allied Republican Roman Legion. They are based on Samnite armour and headgear. We intend to list them under the Later Samnite heading with appropriate shields etc. for use on their own.

Lots of very large orders have come in so I will be busy for the next few weeks, please be patient as I will do my best to keep delivery times down to the minimum.

We are now printing the African elephants in one piece, finalising the printing files and they will go in the store in the next day or two.

The armoured Indian elephants are now back in stock, we received limited casting which are now in the stores.

Post seems to be back to normal for now, still some delays but most getting through okay.

The Republican Romans

The first 2 packs have been added to both store, They are the light foot command RR01 and the first pack of velites RR02. The other packs will be added as they complete.

Armoured Indian Elephants are back in the store

We have new stock of the Armoured versions of the Indian Elephants and armoured heads.

The unarmoured variants will be produced as 3D prints once the scanning and detailing has been completed, they will now be one piece with pewter tusks and tails.

Steppe Cavalry Update Completed.

The update of the Steppe Cavalry is now complete. We have the nobles, light horse, baggage and characters in the store.

All Elephants are out of stock,

We have run out of the resin elephants, they have been on order and we expect them to start arriving soon.

Steppe Cavalry getting close.

Adam has the new legs with the archery equipment attached for both the armoured nobles and the unarmoured finished. He also added 4 new fully armoured horses and attached all the heads to the bodies. This range will now have the riders listed separately to their mounts at the usual pricing of £4 for the 3 riders and £6 for the horses and £7 for the fully armoured ones.

General Price Rise

Our pack prices have gone up, the majority of infantry packs of 4 figures have gone from £4.80 to £5.50, cavalry packs from £9.70 to £10, cataphracts to £11.00 for £10.20 with commands being slightly more expensive.

The price of the alloy is the main reason for the rise however inflation is also a factor. In 2009 our price for a pack of 4 infantry in the old lead alloy was £4.50 and 13 years later they have gone up by £1 with the lead free pewter.

We thought long and hard before taking this step as we really did not want to do it. It looks like the price of pewter will remain high (approx 95% higher than this time last year) for the next year or so. To try and hang in there at the original prices would put the viability of new ranges and even running as we were in doubt, this small advance in prices will help us to continue.

The Byzantine Light Horse are done. The range will conclude with a couple of extra command sets.

Republican Roman Range Down.

We removed the entire Repo Roman range to redo the moulds and make some updates to the figures. This will take time and will commence once we have the Byzantines and Steppe cavalry finished.

Brexit and Aventine.

We are based in Northern Ireland and following the deal we remain in the EU for most things. How does it effect our trading. It doesn't. We can still send to all parts as before, the only restrictions are for those suppliers sending us goods(metal and rubber etc.) they will need declarations when sending us their goods. Having been trading  with the new regulations in place for 15 days now, it appears that there is no change in the times taken for delivery across all regions. Orders sent out so far have arrived in good time to EU,USA,UK and ROW.

At Aventine Miniatures, we have been producing 28mm white metal miniatures for the ancient world since 2009. The packs usually contain 4 infantry or 3 cavalry. They are in lead free pewter and need some assembly. They are supplied unpainted and not on a base.
The shields are separate and we can exchange them for others of your choice if requested. The weapons are generally supplied and are cast in the same pewter. The few figures shown with the 100mm pikes(lancers and pikemen) do not have those supplied in the packs, they need to be purchased separately if required.

We have recently started on a Byzantine Range that will cover the reign of Justinian and progress on wards in time.

Our aim has always been to produce a ranges that covers as much as possible of the troop types needed to field a wargame army for that period. When we started it was to be focused upon Rome and their enemies but has expanded since then to cover a lot more.

We will continue to add to the ranges. Plans are to finish the Byzantines before starting on anything else.

We still want to do Late Republican Romans, 3rd Century Romans, Late Romans, but that takes time.

This new store will replace the old one as soon as I get time to finish the transferal.
